Caversham Wildlife Park - Rooms 7 and 10 Excursion

30th Oct 2023

Last Wednesday both Kindy classes excitedly left school to visit Caversham Wildlife Park and see lots of Australian animals.

After some morning tea we headed to the farm show, where we saw the dogs round up the sheep so the farmer could give them a haircut.

Hunter was chosen to bottle feed the lambs and Mrs Lunan tried to crack the whip.

We tried our hands at milking Mary the cow and then patted rabbits, Guinea pigs and chickens.

Next we went in search of some Australian animals, luckily we found penguins, pelicans, quolls, echidnas, wombats, Tassie devils, a sleepy crocodile and lots of colourful birds.

A highlight for lots of the children was getting close enough to pat a koala and feed some kangaroos and joeys.

Thank you to our lovely parent helpers and to Miss Betts for organising such a great day.

What an adventure... there have been lots of requests to go again!
